Alexa Update

17 Nov 2007So little Alexa completed her first week, working on day 10, but decided she wanted to be unique. Thursday we got a call that her thyroid levels were high and they wanted us to get another blood test. Friday we went to Children’s Hospital and got another test which confirmed what the doctors thought that she has a congenital hypo-thyroid condition. Definitely sounds bad, but in actuality it’s totally manageable and something she has a shot at growing out of. We have to give her medication every day to try and keep things regulated, but it was good to finally get things figured out and helped to put our minds at ease. She’s an amazing baby, sleeping all the time, eating well, only really cries when she’s hungry – a real blessing.
